You'll enjoy interacting with local guest speakers and artisans while sharing in Hawaiian cultural activities. New and exciting venues are added with each tour. Included Features: ~ You'll be given a Hawaiian name. ~ Guided tours throughout the island of O'ahu. ~ Workshops. ~ Create a Hawaiian artifact. ~ Make your very own ukulele ~ Discover the musician in you, singing and playing the ukulele of popular songs of the island. ~ Dance the Hula using Hawaiian instruments. ~ You will visit a University of Hawaii facility which will take you to a small island by boat. ~ You will experience hands-on activities in cultural immersion of biology, archeology, and conservation at a Hawaiian learning center where ancient Hawaiians once performed tasks of their daily living. In a (two part) 4 hour venue, far away from touristy Waikiki, you will participate in activities from the past to present day, as well as learn about the importance of ecology on the Hawaiian Islands. Be prepared to get your feet wet! ~ Fun competition in indoor and outdoor games of ancient times. ~ Explore your culinary talents in preparing and eating local favorites as well as traditional Hawaiian food. ~ Make various types of leis. ~ Available time to pursue your own area of interests. ~ You will share in daily preparation of meals and with all housekeeping with others on your tour. ~ Beach activities. ~ BBQ on the beach. ~ Visit Waikiki, day and evening. ~ Art and Journaling is optional and upon request. We will visit an art venue. ~ Makahiki, an evening of celebration and of showcasing your talents ~ If our full schedule allows, there are many more opportunities and activities that may be included. ~ The venues are scheduled for part of a day or an evening, while leaving the remainder for you to schedule your own activities of interests.
